Starbucks

Since moving to Florida (just about a year ago now) I've been working part time. Things are more expensive here so I kinda work for the extras - dinner at Chili's, DVD's, books (they aren't EXTRAS, they're NECESSITY) and most recently, our scooters.

The point is that I'm now working at Starbucks. I started my barista career at a small drive-thru coffee place here in FWB. But from the moment I heard they were opening Coffee Heaven here, I have known that I would be working there. In fact, I was the first one hired.

We've all been working in the Destin store - many thanks to the Destin staff for weathering the invasion with mostly good humor. But tomorrow, we begin in our brand new store. Tomorrow, we unload the truck and get everything set up. We open on Saturday. I will be opening the store at 5:30 a.m. for the first time to paying customers. Yehaw.

Of course, my number one "career" is my writing. It isn't number one financially (YET) but it is number on in my heart. Starbucks is great though. Fun. Good Company. Fun co-workers. Fun customers.
