Grey's Anatomy

I'll admit it, I like medical shows, even when they're disguised as soap operas as ER has become. I LOVE House. Hugh Laurie is fabulous in that part. My dh and I always make fun, though, of the keep trying another treatment until it kills the patient or cures him mentality of that show. But Hugh Laurie is fabulous in that part. I know, I'm repeating myself. The sarcastic lines and witty comebacks are so well written.

Let me digress, just for a moment. You guys do know that I'm an EMT, right?

One line in that show was amazing: "It just means that his brain is no longer able to tell his body to die." WOW

Since we do like the medical shows, we've been watching Grey's Anatomy. It think this one will last, kids. But I'm often wrong.

I love the way these med students talk about what they do, how they react - "It's like Candy with blood - which makes it even better." (Might not be exact.) Last night they had a guy who'd shot himself five - or seven - times with a nail gun in the head. The fascination with the injury was so real. DH (who's also an EMT) and I sat up and oohed and ahhed over the X-ray. That's real life in the business. Trust me. "You gotta see this" is the mantra in the ER.

As a romance writer, though, I love watching the interplay between Meredith and Dr. Shepherd. Now THAT's chemistry.

Slainte, jax
